Well, the Liberated Pixel Cup has ended. There are 48 games competing, and I’m taking my time reviewing them all.
A fair disclaimer: I’m also competing in the Cup. I’ll try to be unbiased though, judge for yourself and give the games a try!
Farm Taken Over [Play me!] [Download me!]
This is an HTML5 Game. It’s the definition of “WYSIWYG” or “What you see is what you get”. There is a very small intro, and all of a sudden, you’re a guy, with a lamp. WASD doesn’t work on this game, use the Arrow Keys (I wish it would have been mentioned somewhere). The goal of the game isn’t obvious when you first play it either: There are some skeletons chasing after you. If you face them with your lamp, they’ll run away and you’ll score points. If you turn your back on them, they will chase after you. If they touch you, you die.
This game reminds me of Mario Bros and the Boos, but with LPC Assets.
