Well, the Liberated Pixel Cup has ended. There are 48 games competing, and I’m taking my time reviewing them all.
A fair disclaimer: I’m also competing in the Cup. I’ll try to be unbiased though, judge for yourself and give the games a try!
Ye Old Adventure Shop [Play me!] [Download me!]
This is an HTML5 Game. And it is incomplete. The author did not finish in time but decided to submit it anyway. It’s pretty fun to look at random NPCs spawn from different parts of the area, head to the shop, make a line and leave though. There are even NPCs that get off a boat, and it serves as an animated gallery of the different kinds of assets provided by the LPC, as the author has done some interesting color edits that make the sprites look different from the other games I’ve played.
I’d love to see where the author takes the game from here, as the “Manage your own [something]” genre is all the rage these days.
